The Ghana Catholic Bishops' Conference has sympathised with residents affected by tidal waves that hist the coast of the Volta Region and parts of Ada.
According to them, the conference was hit with news of the devastation in the course of its Annual Plenary Assembly held in Wa.
"We sympathize with all those affected by the high tides and pray for protection for them in their moment of vulnerability," a November 13 statement said.
The disaster hit the communities in the Keta Municipality on Sunday, November 7 which rendered many homeless and left others displaced.
Communities such as Abutiakope, Kedzikope, and Keta Central are largely affected to the extent that residents had nothing to salvage.
In Anloga, residents of Dzita, Agbledomi, Atiteti, Agokedzi, and Fuveme were also displaced by the fierce tidal waves that swept through the communities during the wee hours of Sunday. Properties running into thousands of Ghana cedis have been destroyed.

In a statement communique issued at the head of the event which took place at the Upper West Region this year, the conference with the hopes that government comes to the aid of the victims.
"We also wish to entreat the government to put in place the necessary measures to alleviate the sufferings of the people affected as they look for the necessary resources to construct the second phase of the Keta Sea Defense Wall."
The 8-day event which took place between November 5 and 13 was under the theme; 'Fratelli Tutti and Covid-19: Pastoral Opportunities and Challenges in Ghana.'
