In an interesting turn of events, drivers of commercial vehicles aka 'trotro' and their conductors popularly called 'mates' have turned the Ashiaman bus station into a football ground.
The drivers who are part of the Coalition of Commercial Transport Owners have withdrawn their services until government scraps some taxes on fuel to enable reduction at the pumps.
According to JoyNews‘ Maame Esi Thompson, no commercial vehicle is allowed to work at Ashaiman although some people are defying the directives in other areas.
Defiant drivers are compelled to alight their passengers or risk having their vehicles immobilised.
This has left the many commuters who use their services to and from their various destinations stranded.
