Scores of Twitter users say that the disappointing performance of the Black Stars in the 2021 African Cup of Nations, can be attributed to the exposé by ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
In a series of tweets monitored by MyJoyOnline.com, the aggrieved football fans indicated that the poor performance of the senior national team is linked to the departure of the former president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Frank Kwesi Nyantakyi; who was sacked after a documentary by Anas, titled 'Number 12'.
According to them, the exposé eroded the goodwill and solidarity of Ghana's football; leading to a decline in the performance of the Black Stars to date.
Kelewele Joint, an aggrieved supporter thus tweeted, "Kwesi Nyantakyi was really the backbone of the Black Stars herh. We all can agree that Anas’ investigation was needless. See how we dey suffer".

This Red Card would never happen under Kwesi Nyantakyi
The comments from the disappointed supporters were in reaction to the failure of the Black Stars to beat Comoros to enhance their chances of progressing to the next stage of the tournament.
After a hard-fought game, the Stars lost by three goals to two, against Comoros, with skipper, Andrew Dede Ayew, receiving a red card in the opening exchanges of the game.
Per the results, the Black Stars have been evicted from the ongoing tournament in Cameroon.
Subsequently, they'll be expected to leave the country, as their hopes of ending their 40-year AFCON trophy drought has come to an end.
