The Concerned Mobile Network Subscribers' campaign dubbed #NoCallsDay to protest against the ongoing SIM card re-registration exercise kicked in today, February 8.
Ghanaian subscribers were urged not to receive or make phone calls from 6 am to 12noon on Tuesday.
According to the group, the National Communications Authority (NCA) should halt the re-registration exercise happening at various centres in the country.
MyJoyOnline.com took to the social media platform Twitter to find out how Ghanaians are treating the day.
It was observed that while some users were determined to comply with today's directives, others felt no need to lose their business calls to protest against an initiative they viewed as inevitable.
Am truly happy to be observing the #NoCallsDay , how about you? . together we press home our concerns.#NoCallsDay

According to those opposed to the campaign, refusing to make or take calls is not effective to halt the ongoing exercise.
what’s the #NoCallsDay really going to solve ??

They argued that due to some imperative communications that occur daily such as speaking to one's boss on the phone, it was impossible to do that for #NoCallsDay.

And it also goes a long way to show how idle people are in this country. Cos I meet people who says - "I've been here for the 3rd time in 3 days."
