As part of efforts towards contributing to sustainable agriculture, Eco Africa Resource Group has committed financial support toward the upcoming ‘Gathering of the Royals’ event to be held in Accra.
Founded in 2014, Eco Africa Resource Group has an overall objective to advocate and promote the use of environmentally safe processes in producing food and renewable energy for Africa.
In a press statement, the Continent Director of Eco Africa Resource Group, Mr. Emmanuel Agyei, said, the Company considers ‘Gathering of the Royals,’ a timely and much-needed event that will enable traditional leaders, specifically, queen mothers in the country to galvanize their efforts and seek sustainable partnerships to support agri-women residing in their regions, districts and clans.
The event, on the theme, “The Role of Royals in Accelerating Agri-Peace and Developing Sustainable Farmers,” will bring together fifty (50) queen mothers; and representatives from Academia, policy, Government, development agencies and Agric institutions, to explore further opportunities in the agric sector, as well as conflict resolutions alternatives towards Peace-building, and the growth of sustainable farmers in the country.
As part of the half-day event, a Panel conversation will be moderated by the Country Manager of OCP Africa, Mr. Samuel Oduro-Asare, which will see eight (8) queen-mothers from Bono East, West-North, Ashanti, Eastern, Western, Oti, Upper East, Upper West and Greater Accra region, elaborate on Agricultural development initiatives they are championing in their various clans and districts.
Other dignitaries expected to grace and speak at the event include the Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Samuel Kofi Dzamesi; the Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle Constituency, Hon. Zanetor Agyeman Rawlings and the Israeli Ambassador to Ghana, H.E Shlomit Sufa, among other notable personalities.
The Executive Director of Agrihouse Foundation, Ms. Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa Sarpong, said Agrihouse is excited about the great mix and balance of stakeholders who will be at the event, right from companies into fertilizer, irrigation, ICT, Finance, Tractor and Equipment, Machinery and Marketing services.
“We are confident all stakeholders who will contribute significantly to the conversations that will take place, which will inform policy direction, and assist in structuring appropriate approaches, practices, systems and innovations for a sustained agricultural value and growth, from the community level to the top level,” she said.
She also expressed her gratitude to some of the companies, who have contributed in kind and in cash towards the organization of the event, including, Eco Africa Resource Group, WAATCO, Nanam Ventures, Benyima Farms and C. Woermann.
The Gathering of the Royals will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at the GNAT Hall, Accra.
