The contract manager for Legon's Athletics track and Rugby field construction, Yaw Ofosu, has vowed to ensure the completion of the facilities by the end of the year for the Africa Games.
Legon is one of the sites earmarked for the impending Games set to be held in Ghana next year.
The Games Village, Athletics track and a Rugby field are the three major facilities expected to be put up for the continental event.
Ofosu's team are in charge of the establishment of the fields which he is confident of delivering.
"We have done the running track. We have removed the existing surface. We are going to lay a new technologically advanced running track that will meet the requirement of the Africa Games," Ofosu told Joy Sports in an exclusive interview.
"We have also started with the construction of the VIP building that will have Presidential VIP area, disabled facilities, changing rooms and so on and so forth.
"We will have a warm-up track where the athletes will practice before they come to the main stadium for the actual competition. We have a rugby field that we are also constructing.
“Definitely we are on track and quite confident we will meet the scheduled completion date [December]," he added.
Ghana host the rest of Africa for the first time after winning the bid in 2018, beating stiff competition from neighbouring nations Burkina Faso and Nigeria.
