You may know Asante Twi, Ewe or Ga but do you know about the Wassa language?
Spoken in the Western region, it is one of the languages covering the most geographical space on the west coast of Ghana and yet many natives can’t read, speak or write it.
School children in the area where it is spoken say the fear of getting punished in school scares them from speaking it.
In the second of our series of stories celebrating Ghana month, JoyNews travelled to Daboase in the Wassa East district.
