Joao Castro, a football commentator with Portugal-based media house, Radio Observador, believes Sporting Cp has the perfect plan to ensure the development of Ghanaian youngster, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku.
The 18-year-old was officially announced Sporting's new acquisition on Wednesday, April 6, penning a five-year deal with the club with a 60 million euros release clause.
At such a young age, the player's development is the priority of Sporting, who are said to have the needed plan to help him.
"There are external factors conditioning a player’s adaptation - new country, new club, new language, new culture but we have a plan for him and the other young players," Castro told JoySports in an interview.
"Sporting’s academy is one of the best in the world. We made Cristiano Ronaldo, [Luis] Nani and [Ricardo] Quaresma, so we are prepared to give the young players the best training system and of course, for Fatawu, he is already training with the U-23 team to prepare him for next season and then he will play pre-season. I think he will be with the sporting main team," he added.
Issahaku played for Ghana at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and was also involved in the 2022 World Cup qualifier playoff against Nigeria last month.
