In efforts to help the government of Ghana fight climate change and also attain the Global Goals and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to ensure the lasting protection of the planet and its natural resources, CorpNation Foundation and itrash technologies have launched an initiative dubbed 'Saving The Planet with the 4R+.

The 4R+ Initiative is a waste management initiative that aims to project waste reduction by reusing, recycling and recovery, across the globe, to build a sound material-cycle society.

The initiative was launched on 29th April in Ghana Secondary Technical School and New Takoradi on 30th April all in the Western Region.

Reechoing the relevance of waste segregation in every corner of the country, the CEO of CNF, Corp Sayvee hinted that, launching the initiative in a school and a community depicts the targeted coverage of the initiative.

As part of the launch, GSTS and New Takoradi were gifted waste bins modeled from discarded car tyres to reflect the reusing of the 4R+ Initiative. The four differently labeled groups of bins have been stationed at different points at GSTS and New Takoradi to collect general plastics, paper waste, polythenes and general wastes.  Leadership of CNF and itrash demonstrated how waste will be segregated and deposited into the bins.

Tonnes of waste generated from homes, factories, churches and recreational centres usually end up in the sea and surrounding water bodies that affect the health and very existence of humanity.

Assembly members of the areas were not left out and they expressed their joy to embrace this environmentally friendly way of keeping the community cleaner and its residents healthier.

Present also at GSTS were Rev Dr. Kennedy Obeng the headmaster of GSTS, EPA assistant programs officer Madam Elizabeth Addo, STMA assistant director Madam Bernice Ghansah, GES, Forestry commission, traditional and political figures in Takoradi as well as media houses in and out of Western Region.

Clearly, this initiative that has been beautifully launched if given the needed attention, will save Ghana the millions of cedis expended on addressing poor sanitation and in addition pump significant volumes of cash into the economy as it will employ thousands of Ghanaians for large scale output. CorpNation Foundation and itrash technologies collaboration is looking into helping  the present and next generations!
