The Bank of Ghana Hospital in Cantonment will on May 20 and 21, 2022 hold an open day event.
The Hospital said the event is aimed to debunk the notion that the Bank Hospital is meant for a selected few.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of the multi-disciplinary private healthcare facility, Indren Poovan, the event is also to provide opportunity to the public to acquaint themselves with the various specialist care they provide and facilities available to deliver world-class health care.
“When people ask me why we’re having an open day, it is essentially to achieve one purpose. Currently, there is misconception in the market that the Bank Hospital is only to provide services for the staff of Bank of Ghana. And actually the hospital was constructed and its purpose is to provide services,” he stated.

He added that the facility, during the open day event, would provide free medical screening to the public.
“We will have a host of free offerings. These include; visual activity test, health risk assessment, diet counselling, counselling on infant nutrition, physical examination of children, general counselling on women’s health, prenatal, labour and delivery, dental screening”, he noted.
Indren Poovan, also announced that plans are far advanced to collaborate with private health insurance providers and corporate institutions that may be interested in their services.

“At the moment, we are approaching a few private insurance companies, because we got our accreditation from the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) recently, that allows us to engage with private insurance companies,” Indren Poovan said.
Currently, the hospital has a 51 bed capacity with three operating theatres. The reason the CEO said the hospital does not want to engage with too many insurance companies.

“Our bed capacity at the moment is 51 with three operating theaters. So as you can imagine, it is not a huge facility, so we don’t want to engage with too many insurance companies, so at the moment we have approached six insurance companies and we are at the contract review stage at the moment. So as they sign, they will refer their patients to us,” he added.

The Bank Hospital has been opened to the public, since July, 8, 2021. Its Management is therefore encouraging the general public to take advantage of the open day and free medical screening.
