Head coach of Ghana's Black Maidens, Baba Nuha, says he is confident about his side securing qualification to the 2022 U-17 FIFA Women's World Cup ahead of Morocco.
Ghana faces Morocco in their final qualifier game in a two-legged tie for a spot to represent Africa in India.
The Black Maidens will host the North African side in the first leg on Friday, May 20, at the Accra Sports Stadium with the return leg coming off on June 4, 2022, in Morocco.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, May 19, Nuhu admitted the tie will be a difficult one for his girls but remains confident Ghana will qualify.
"Morocco are not a pushover side. They have scored goals and so have we so at the end of the day we will see what will happen, but I am very confident that we will qualify," he said.
"There has not been a time we have not qualified for the World Cup and this year will not be different. We are not scared by the number of goals they have scored. It is an aggregate scoreline game and I know my ladies."
Having participated in the previous six editions of the tournament, the Black Maidens are seeking a seventh appearance at the global showpiece.
This year's U-17 Women’s World Cup will come off from 11 – 30 October, 2022 in India.
