Pepsodent Ghana’s Dental TV Show, Time with the Dentist is back with yet another interesting and educative season to provide free dental consultation to Ghanaians.
Time with The Dentist is a dental TV show by Pepsodent in partnership with the Ghana Dental Association which seeks to educate Ghanaians on basic oral hygiene routines, how to care for the teeth, some myths and facts associated with maintaining good oral hygiene among others.
It aims to bridge the huge inequality gap that exists around the world regarding access to professional dental care and advice.
A lot of times, visiting a dentist to address oral health problems is often delayed or problems are not treated at all. Inequality in access is especially severe in low- and middle-income countries where problems of unequal distribution of oral health services, shortages of informally trained dentists, and high costs of dental treatments are more pronounced.
Driven by the belief that everyone has a right to good oral health, Pepsodent is providing free dental consultation via Dental TV Show, Time with the Dentist.
The show shall feature members of the Ghana Dental Association and resident Dentists, Dr. Gwendolyn Amarquaye-Bayitse and Dr. Gilbert Ankrah. It airs weekly on TV3, Adom TV, UTV, MX24 and GHOne TV.
Having access to a dentist’s advice as soon as a problem arises is the most effective way to avoid serious dental outcomes because often, the result of delayed treatment is ultimately tooth loss.
According to global research by Pepsodent, In Ghana, 4 out of 5 people have lost their teeth by the age of 65. Tooth loss has serious consequences affecting general health and wellbeing, quality of life, and economic and social opportunities, which exacerbate inequality.
For many of us, we have many reasons for not visiting the dental clinic which may be justifiable. It is for this reason that ‘Time With The Dentist’ show is back to highlight almost all the topics in dentistry that we need to know about and how to care for the teeth.
