Member of Parliament for the Akim Oda constituency, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, has congratulated the management, technical team and the playing body of Kotoku Royals after securing promotion to the Ghana Premier League.
After a goalless draw with Tema Youth on Sunday, June 12, Kotoku Royals earned promotion to Ghana’s top flight for the first time in the club’s history.
Addressing jubilant supporters in Oda on Sunday night, Hon. Acquah stressed the importance of the team’s promotion.

“I knew the extent to which the economy of Akim Oda and its environs would be rejuvenated if our football team secured promotion to the Premier League. And that was the reason I supported the team during their Division One campaign," he said.

Kotoko Royals become the first Akim Oda club to make it to the Ghana Premier League. They are also the eighth club from the Eastern Region to secure Ghana Premier League promotion after Okwahu United, Dawu Youngsters, Power FC, Maxbees FC, Kwaebibrem FC, Kade Hospurs and Sususbribi FC.
