Musician, Wendy Shay, has called for an end to discrimination against TikToker influencers shooting into stardom.
According to her, every star, whether a musician, footballer, movie star or TickToker, is a star, therefore, should all be treated equally.
"Enough of this discrimination of who a star is and who is Not …. We have Football stars, Music Stars, Movie stars and TikTok Stars So TiKToKers Are Stars Period!" she tweeted.

Her comment follows TikTok star Asantewaa's comment to the effect that TikTokers make singers’ songs go viral.
“I have always maintained that it doesn’t matter how long you have played your music game. When you make that song, it is not about your craft, you need to get us on board before it can blow. If not, you will be the only person singing the song… We make the song trend,” Asantewaa touted.
Asantewaa came under heavy backlash following this comment, with many of her critics claiming that TikTokers are not stars or celebrities.
Wendy Shay, however, does not share the same opinion. She has asked all critics of TikTokers to cut the disrespect.
