Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency was pursued by residents of certain communities in the Ashanti Region while being armed with a machete.
Residents who were agitated by the poor state of the roads staged a protest on Wednesday to express their displeasure with the legislator, Emmanuel Agyei Anhwere.
The Wiawso–Antoakrom road was milled for renovation three years ago.
The reason was that the road was filled with potholes, which hindered traffic flow in the area.
However, the contractor later abandoned the construction of the drainage systems, per reports.
According to locals, the contractor has not been at the site since the year's commencement.
The MP encountered significant resistance in three communities, Kobeng, Seidi, and Amanchia.
The village chief in Amanchia declined to go to a meeting where the MP was supposed to hear the community's worries.
However, Emmanuel Agyei urged his Constituents to practice restraint.
