AngloGold Ashanti (AGA), as part of its educational improvement project, has organized a quiz competition for basic school pupils at Obuasi.
The competition is organized annually to address the capacity challenges in Obuasi schools and to enlighten stakeholders on the importance of education.
This year, the students tackled topics on environment and sanitation.
According to Emmanuel Baidoo, Senior Sustainability Manager of AGA, “investment in education is a sure way to long-term human capital development, AGA will ensure that all educational policies in its socio-economic development plan will be fulfilled”.

Independence won the ultimate prize with 67 points as against 48.5 points by SDA.
The winner took home a gold trophy, medals and a cash prize of GHC5,000.00 while the runner-up was presented with medals and a cash prize of GHC3,000.00.
In addition, the two top schools went home with computers, textbooks, dictionaries, tablets, projectors, and backpacks.
