The Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has said the current government will go down as the best in the history of Ghana’s fourth republic.
According to him, the policies and programmes instituted by the Akufo-Addo-led government are unmatched in the history of the Fourth Republic.
Addressing the audience at the NPP thanksgiving service which was held at the party’s headquarters in Accra, he said, “we have created more jobs than any other government in the history of the fourth republic. More jobs in teaching, nursing, security forces, civil service, private sectors."
"We have to thank God for that. There’s more to do, no doubt but our record puts us as number one of any government in the fourth republic as far as job creation is concerned.”
The Vice President added that the country has witnessed the construction of more roads and classrooms during the NPP regime.
He said, the NPP government has fulfilled most of the promises made to Ghanaians in the last six years.
“In the last six years, we are thankful to God for the ideas that this government has been able to implement. One Consistency One Ambulance, 1D1F and One Village One Dam. Zongo Development Fund, the planting for food and jobs and the Zipline drones which are delivering medicines all across the country. We have implemented the Ghana card which has 17 million people enrolled.” he said.
Although the country is faced with economic challenges, Dr Bawumia believes that the NPP are the best people to resolve these challenges.
Meanwhile, the party in 2023 will elect its flag bearer who will lead the party to win the 2024 general election.
