President Akufo-Addo is optimistic that despite the gloomy economic situation of Ghana, confident that the best is yet to come.
Ghana is currently looking to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a bailout but meeting conditions for such a program is proving difficult.
But President Akufo Addo is counting on the collective resolve of Ghanaians to turn the fortunes of the country around.
"Even though we are presently confronted with difficulties in our economic performance, I do not doubt our collective resolve as I said on 6th January, to work our way out of these challenges and put our nation back onto the path of progress and prosperity," he explained.
He was speaking at a New Year's Service at the Jubilee House on Tuesday, January 10, 2023.
Metropolitan Archbishop of the Anglican Church in charge of the Province of West Africa, Most. Rev. Dr Cyril Ben Smith said despite opposition to the construction of the national cathedral, the edifice will be completed to the glory of God.
"Your building of the National Cathedral is enough testimony of your devotion to God. No matter the naysayers, it will happen," he said.
He urged the public to keep faith in the President to ensure that the turmoils are surmounted successfully.
