The Kpotorme Health Centre in the South Tongu District has been given a facelift with the construction of the Out Patient Department to enhance quality healthcare delivery in the area.
The Kpotorme Health Centre serves about seven other communities along the stretch, giving them relief from having to travel to other towns for health care.
Residents in the area are delighted that the facility has been rehabilitated with improved facilities and equipment to help in effective healthcare delivery in the area.
They noted that the project is long overdue as the population keeps increasing.
In an interview with the DCE for the South Tongu District, Seth Agbi, he said it became necessary to expand the facility upon request by the District Health Directorate.
Mr Agbi noted that with the high demands of residents from the various communities, there was the need to have the facility expanded to help improve on healthcare delivery in the area.
Mr Agbi said more health facilities will be constructed in the various communities to help care for patients and also improve on quality health care.
