An anti-robbery unit personnel of the Ashanti Regional Police Command, Sergeant Owusu Asante Baafi and his family have been burnt to death in a fire outbreak.
The fire destroyed the police barracks where the officer and his family lived.
According to reports, the officer believed to be in his 30s died together with his wife and child.
The Assembly Member for the Apromase/Asawase Electoral area, Ernest Kwarteng who confirmed the news said they are waiting for investigations into the cause of the fire outbreak.
“According to eyewitnesses, the fire swept through one of the rooms where the officer, his wife and daughter were,” he said.
“The police came in but we are waiting for the experts to come in to tell us what exactly happened”, he said.
Meanwhile, the bodies have been deposited at the morgue.
