Singer Shegah, member of Ghana’s first female Hiplife group, has announced her return to mainstream music with the release of a new single titled ‘Cool Chop’.
Shegah, known in real life as Mildred Mark-Hansen, is currently signed to Magic Records, under which label she has released the new Afrobeat record which taps into the trendy Amapiano sound titled ‘Cool Chop’, produced by Abochi.

The talented singer Shegah, doubles as a ragga artiste and is a founding member of Hiplife group, Triple M, which released hits including Koti, Girls Girls, and ‘Mon titi ndi’, as well as an official song for the Ghana Black Queens football team. Shegah’s impeccable songwriting skills are evident in the lyrics of the aforementioned songs that made waves in the early 2000s.
The group stayed active in the Ghanaian music industry while pursuing education, until it disbanded in 2005 after two albums.
Meanwhile, Shegah has proven that she was born to do music. In recent times, she collaborated with Samini and Jupiter on ‘Murder’. Prior to that, she had released an album titled My Time, which featured hit songs such as ‘Zinzima’, ‘Odo’ and ‘So Much Love’, featuring King Ayisoba, and "Odo", under Magic Records.

In 2015, Shegah resurfaced with reggae and dancehall bangers such as "Let's Go" featuring Rashid Metal, "Marking Time," BAAWASA, PARTY FIRE collaboration with Flawless Snypa (Jamaica), and SURVIVAL under her own Boss Chick Entertainment and Team Styla banners.
She has been the Greater Accra Regional secretary for the Musician Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) for about eleven years.
Shegah emerged as the winner for the SFDC Radio Power Play 10 in LUTON-UK 4th edition in July 2015, with her track titled DEM MARKING TIME and as the only female artist to win that competition.

With the release of ‘Cool Chop’ which is available on all streaming platforms, Shegah states that she is back for good.
