Management of Margaret Marquart Hospital in the Kpando Municipality says that the National Health Insurance Authority owes them claims for 9 months.
According to the hospital administrator, William Ladzaka, this is really affecting the effectiveness and smooth running of the hospital.

"98% of our clients are health insurance card holders but all the money that we have are locked with the National health insurance, health insurance owes the facility about 9 months of the investment, from last year we were paid up to April 2022, from May till date we have not received any money," he said.
“However medical consumables and the drugs, we have to buy them with cash now, so that is a major challenge affecting the facility and government is not going to support the facility in any way”, he indicated

In a related development, the Catholic Diocese observed the 31st World Day of the Sick celebrations at the hospital’s premises where the Bishop of Ho Diocese, Most Rev Emmanuel Fianu admonished health workers to adopt positive work ethics.
“Human tendency, unfortunately, links towards doing the right thing when an authoritative eye is looking on, I know that if I should pay an official visit to any of our facilities, every caregiver will be seriously at his/her post but I know that is not always the case”, Rev. Fianu stated.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Kpando, Geoffrey Badasu, speaking at the same ceremony encouraged health workers to inculcate the habit of professionalism while 3 staff members of Catholic health facilities in Ho Diocese were awarded for their excellent services.
