Young talented Ghanaian singer, Renner, is making waves in both Jamaica and Ghana after the release of ‘Young Girl Business refix’ in January this year.
The song, originally composed by legendary Jamaican singer, Chaka Demus, did great on the airwaves. However, its refix, recruiting Pliers and rising singer Renner, is proof that there’s strength in unity.
Renner, who is excited about the collaboration, has detailed how the project came about in the first place. “I was contacted by King Lagazee, who is an icon in the dancehall and reggae fraternity in Ghana. He told me about Chaka Demus’ quest to have a Ghanaian songstress on the remake of his song. I did what I did, and that was it”, she revealed.
“I can boldly say hardwork truly pays. I was amazed to know that industry folks were watching and when it mattered most, I was recommended for an all-important international dancehall collaboration. I am more than grateful to Lagazee for the opportunity and to Chaka Demus and Pliers for believing in my talent”, Renner told Joy Entertainment.

‘Young Gyal Business’ is a rework of the classic Chaka Demus hit, with a fresh, modern twist. The refix features Pliers and Renner's smooth vocals and a catchy new beat, making it a perfect addition to any party or dance floor. The track was produced by Chaka Demus, Bright Star Production and Yard Slippaz Ent. The new riddim was created by Kirk "Kirkledove" Bennett.
The release of "Young Gyal Business (Refix)" is the latest in a string of successful collaborations between Chaka Demus & Pliers who are known for hit songs such as ‘Murder She Wrote’ and ‘Tease Me’, among others.

The legendary Jamaican duo, who have had a spontaneous chemistry between them for about three decades, churning out several albums, said of the new song, “we're excited to release this new track, and we're happy to have Renner on board. She is a very talented”.
Renner is a young Ghanaian artist noted for smooth vocals and unique singing style. She has been active in the music industry for several years, working hard and making sure that her voice is heard through solo dancehall releases and collaborations with other Ghanaian artistes. Her latest single ‘Hold Me Down’ is available on streaming platforms.
