New faces, especially the young ones have filed to contest in the upcoming Parliamentary primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Volta Region.
Dr. Robert Doh is one of the eight candidates who filed their nominations in the Ho Central Constituency of the Volta Region.
The Medical doctor by profession, who said he has been behind the scenes in supporting the NDC, believes its time to take the wheel to steer the Ho Central Constituency to effect the changes that are needed.
While talking to the media, Dr. Doh said that there is no first-timer in politics.
''There is no first-timer in politics, somebody having contested in a race before and has lost; in a competition, we only remember the first position. Whether you contested three or four times and have lost. This is a new competition, a new contest and Dr. Doh is coming with a new energy and a new force,'' he assured.

Dr. Doh added that he would increase the total votes of the Ho Central Constituency in the 2024 election, so that the area can also boast of a minister, as that has not been the case since 1992.
He further stated that his policies will be centered on agribusiness and commerce.
Other people who filed their nominations in the Ho Central Constituency are; Mr. Emmanuel Kafui Dzameƒe, a Sales and Marketing Manager at Chemico Group, Mr. Stanley Nelvis Glate, a lecturer at Ho Technical University who both contested the incumbent member of Parliament, Benjamin Komla Kpodo and lost in 2019.
Others are; Mr. Selorm Dey, a lawyer and a chartered accountant; Raphael Makafui Korda, an engineer; Mr. Kpotosu, a teacher at Mawuli School who also contested in 2019 and lost.
Mr. Amevor, the Vice Chairman of the committee that received the nominations forms used the opportunity to caution the nominees to desist from quarrels and misunderstandings among them since the contest is an in-house one, so they can unite to send the elephant back to the bush in 2024.
Vetting of nominees is slated from 27th March to 29th March 2023, while the date for appeal is from 30th March to 6th April, 2023.
