Popular Kumasi-based actor Dr Likee was nearly a victim of mobile money fraud on the streets of Kumasi some weeks ago.
It happened behind the scenes of a set while his team prepared to shoot one of their skits.

During the production, Ebenezer Akwasi Antwi as he is known outside showbiz, received a phone call from a strange number demanding that some mistakenly sent funds be returned. But the skit-maker thought it smelt fishy and probed further.
During the inquiry, the fraudsters realised their victim was rather a celebrity whose videos they loved. Immediately, they got star-struck and briefly suspended the operation.
The syndicate turned into a hearty chat between both parties over the phone.
“This is my personal number so please don’t defraud me,” the actor pleaded to which the suspect responded in the affirmative.

Dr Likee passed his mobile phone to his co-actor known on screens as Kyekyeku who could not hold it together.
"I follow you people a lot," the fraudster said in an excited tone as Kyekyeku burst out into laughter.
The fraudster also recounted some of his favourite shows from the crew.
