Accra Great Olympics head coach Bismark Kobi-Mensah says determination and resilience were key to his side's win over Asante Kotoko on Thursday.
The Wonder Club registered a 2-0 victory over the Porcupine Warriors at the WAFA Park in Sogakope to move up the league table on match day 28 of the betPawa Ghana Premier League.
First-half goals from Michael Osei and Emmanuel Akesseh lifted Olympics out of the relegation zone to the 14th position with six matches to end the season.
Speaking after the game, Kobi-Mensah says his players were well-prepared for the crucial clash despite the difficulty in playing the defending league champions.
"Playing against Asante Kotoko was a headache for me because they also want to win the league," he told StarTimes after the game.
"But we prepared very well for the game and I think we deserved the win because we were very dominant in all departments in the first half showing resilience and determination. And that has won the game for us."
Olympics are back in action on match day 29 of the league where they travel to Bibiani to play GoldStars at Dun's Park.
