Ghana international Abdul Baba Rahman has explained his decision to rejoin Greek side PAOK Thessaloniki following his departure from Chelsea Football Club.
Baba Rahman and Chelsea agreed to a mutual termination of his contract following a disappointing eight-year spell at Stamford Bridge which saw him move out on several loan spells.
The left-back's transfer to PAOK was announced soon after the termination with his new contract running until 2026.
In his first interview with the club's media, he revealed why he chose to join the Greek outfit over
other clubs vying for his signature.
"I think PAOK has always been in contact with me for the last two years," he said.
"I think it's the right move for me because you have to go where you feel really wanted and desired. Although I had different offers, I felt PAOK was a family to me."
The Ghanaian also added that he was convinced after a conversation with the manager of the side.
“When I spoke with the coach, he really expressed his desire to have me here, and that’s
something I really appreciate and made me choose PAOK," he noted.
Baba Rahman has joined the rest of the PAOK squad in their pre-season tour and is expected
to feature in their first pre-season game versus Genk later on Wednesday, July 12.
