Comedy lovers should be preparing for a rib-cracking extravaganza as Ghanaian comedy pioneers join forces with the next generation of humourists for an unprecedented event, the maiden 'Comic & Comedy' stand-up comedy festival.
Powered by JPS Communications with support from Superfam Network, this laughter-packed spectacle is set to take place on Saturday, July 22 and Sunday, July 23, 2023, at the National Theatre in Accra.
'Comic & Comedy' is bringing together a stellar line-up of top-notch comedians from across the industry, showcasing stunning performances from the old guard, the current stars, and the future torchbearers of comedy—all under one roof.
With shows scheduled for 4 pm and 8 pm each day, this two-night extravaganza promises to unleash an atmosphere of uncontrollable laughter that will leave audiences in stitches.
Leading the charge of mirthful mayhem are two legends in their own right: veteran politician and communications consultant Fritz Baffour, and the astute broadcaster and actor Mikki Osei Berko.
These comedic maestros will be complemented by the rising stars of the current generation, including Foster Romanus, Clemento Suarez, Jacinta, OB Amponsah, Lekzy Decomic, Jeneral Ntatia, Afia Barcelona, Putogo, and the incomparable Yaa Anima.
Francis Tetteh Nutakor, the mastermind behind this uproarious event, explains that the comedy industry is evolving at a breakneck pace. Recognizing the need to celebrate the milestones achieved and bring together the old, current, and future generations, he conceived 'Comic & Comedy.'
“This festival aims to honor all those who have contributed to the field while providing the next generation with the invaluable opportunity to draw wisdom from the well of experience shared by the legends,” Francis stated.
But that's not all! 'Comic & Comedy' offers more than just side-splitting performances. Prepare to be captivated by sensational musical acts, witness electrifying dance routines, and seize the chance to network with like-minded comedy enthusiasts. With excitement set to reach an all-time high, this event promises to be an experience like no other.
