The Deputy Managing Director of the Volta Aluminium Company Limited (VALCO) says he is not interested in Parliamentary business anymore.
Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover said this when he took his turn on Joy FM’s Personality Profile hosted by Lexis Bill on Thursday.
Mr Glover served in Parliament as the MP for the Tema East Constituency from 2012 to 2020, on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party until he lost the election in 2020.
“I’ve had my term”, he stated, recounting how he lost sadly because people in authority ganged up against him to vote “skirt and blouse”.
“My loss in the 2020 elections taught me to fear human beings and look at things differently because people have started confessing what they did to me. But, I have forgiven everybody," he uttered.
Touting his achievements as MP for the Tema East Constituency, Mr Glover said he took a loan to put up a 46-sitter toilet at Bankuman, a suburb of Tema East.
Moreover, he used part of his Common Fund to put up washrooms and two rooms for the market women at Bulk Bay.
“I also used 40 per cent of my Common Fund to support some students through education and GNPC is also assisting me to build a 100-bed hospital at Tema Newtown”, he mentioned.
"Thankfully, with the help of GHAPOHA, the First class AstroTurf by Wembley was also done during my tenure and I ensured that most of the roads were asphalted," the Former Tema East MP enumerated.
According to Mr Glover, he worked even in opposition, and, therefore, he will not condone the excuse by the current MP that he is unable to work because his party is in opposition.
Commenting on his loss in his bid to become the NPP National Organiser, the Deputy Managing Director of VALCO said, “I am a typical grass root person. That’s why I decided to contest on the national level. I won the popular votes, in 11 out of the 16 regions.
"That alone indicates that I’m an asset to the NPP and I’m working together with Nana B, the elected National Organiser to make sure we break the eight.”
In his parting comments, Mr Glover advised the youth not to rush in their quest to make it in life reiterating, “Humility, service and godliness pay a lot. Don’t ever think anybody you see on the streets, in a good car or walking around just had it on a silver platter. People have toiled, sacrificed to get to where they are.
“Contact people you can tap into, to mentor you and that’s the way you can make it," he advised the youth.
