In the heart of Hohoe, a young man's journey from humble beginnings to becoming the Best Graduating Business Student at GIMPA (Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration) is nothing short of inspiring.
Meet Xystus Gedzah, a visionary individual whose determination and commitment have propelled him from the streets of Keta, where he was born, to the forefront of the business world. His story is a testament to the power of ambition and hard work.
Xystus Gedzah's journey began in Newtown Basic School in Hohoe, a modest beginning that laid the foundation for his unwavering pursuit of excellence.

Even during his early education, Gedzah displayed a remarkable drive to achieve more. A turning point came when he set his sights on attending St. Francis Junior High School (JHS), a reputable institution in Hohoe in the Volta Region.
Despite financial constraints, Gedzah devised a creative plan. While in class 6 at Newtown Basic School, he secretly saved money to purchase an application form for St. Francis JHS.
His determination paid off as he successfully passed the entrance exams, a moment that marked the first step toward a brighter future. It was a decision that would change the trajectory of his life forever.
Gedzah's academic journey continued to flourish, leading him to the prestigious Bishop Herman College after his Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
At Bishop Herman College, Gedzah's leadership qualities began to shine. It was during this time that Gedzah's interest in the intricate workings of the oil and gas sector was sparked.
He subsequently attended the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) for his 1st Degree.

His national service experience with Schlumberger provided him with insights into the planning, coordination, and execution of projects in this critical industry.

Impressed by the coordination of resources and the movement of materials in the oil and gas sector, Gedzah joined Schlumberger's MI-SWACO segment, focusing on the supply and services aspects of chemicals, tools, and equipment.
The dynamic nature of the industry resonated with Gedzah, fueling his eagerness to learn and adapt to real-time information for effective planning and coordination.
In a twist of fate brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, Gedzah transitioned to Omni Energy Limited as a commercial analyst, leveraging his expertise in resource coordination to drive the company's sourcing and movement of materials.
His adaptability and strategic mindset proved invaluable, aligning perfectly with the demands of the role. It was evident that Gedzah's unique skill set, which seamlessly blends accounting with oil and gas resource coordination, was a driving force behind his success.
Gedzah's commitment to his craft goes beyond his professional pursuits. He excels in soccer and table tennis, skills honed during his time at Bishop Herman College.

These experiences underscore his multifaceted approach to life, where dedication and passion extend to both work and play.
