French Ligue 1 side Montpellier have begun talks with Ludogerets to sign Ghana international Bernard Tekpetey this summer.
Tekpetey has been linked with a move away from the club this summer with teams from Germany said to be interested in his services.
However, Foot Mercato reports Montpellier have taken the initial steps in trying to secure the player's signature before the end of the transfer window.
Tekpetey has a year left on his current deal with Ludogerets and has had a brilliant start to the 2023/24 season for the Bulgarian side.
The forward has six goals in nine appearances across all competitions this season for the club and will be looking to get better as the season continues.
