Eni Ghana, on behalf of its partners in the OCTP project - Vitol Upstream Ghana Ltd and Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) – has completed three astroturf pitches under its School Infrastructural Project in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region of Ghana.
The pitches are located within proximity to Eni Ghana’s Area of Influence (AoI) which are Atuabo, Eikwe, and Sanzule/Krisan.

The astroturf pitches were constructed with a focus on social inclusion, fostering positive self-awareness for better health, and nurturing athletic growth to cultivate a fitness-focused and flourishing community.
The launch was commemorated with a football match involving school children, community members, and staff of Eni Ghana at Angoazo Park.

The project is part of the $3.4m infrastructural project which included the construction of eight new classroom blocks, eight combined staffrooms, headmaster, and library blocks, six canteen blocks, 10 toilet facilities, and 10 volleyball courts.
It also foresaw the refurbishment of 11 school blocks on eleven compounds, as well as the execution of engineering, procurement, and construction activities in the schools.

This forms part of the educational project that has been implemented by Eni Ghana and its OCTP partners – Vitol and GNPC; focusing on teachers training and teaching assistance in the district’s schools and giving scholarship packages to over 1,000 students in the Ellembelle District.
Eni is a globally integrated energy company operating in 69 countries. It has been present in Ghana since 2009 with its upstream activity and currently accounts in the country for an equity production of 30,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
