The Director of Communications at the presidency, Eugene Arhin has commended the Akufo-Addo government for achieving the full value of the Songhor Lagoon.
According to Mr Arhin, this was only made possible by the incumbent government.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, he said the Songhor Lagoon is being brought into full production for the benefit of residents of Ada and citizens of the entire country.
The NPP Parliamentary Candidate hopeful for Awutu Senya West said the Akufo-Addo government is determined to make Ghana an example of rapid economic growth within the context of a well-developed market economy.
“For some fifty-four (54) years, successive governments have tried, without success, to harness the full value of the Songhor Lagoon. However, it is under the government of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that the Songhor Lagoon is being brought into full production for the benefit of residents of Ada and citizens of the entire nation.”
“The Akufo-Addo government is determined to make Ghana an example of rapid economic growth within the context of a well-developed market economy, where the private sector does not only survive, but actually thrives,” he posted.
President Akufo-Addo on Wednesday, commissioned the Electrochem Salt Mine and Processing Plant established by the McDan Group of companies.
The salting mining company located in Songhor, Ada, is the latest addition to the McDan group of companies.
Present at the launch were Dr Daniel McKorkely, Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Samuel Abu Jinapor, Trades and Industry Minister, K.T. Hammond, and Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey.
This, Mr Arhin says has a huge untapped potential and can create massive job opportunities for unemployed youth.
