Conditions at the stalled Obetsebi Lamptey Interchange Project site in Accra is worsening road users and those doing business within the Abossey Okai, Kaneshie, and the Graphic Road enclave.
Gaping potholes, dust during dry conditions, stagnant potholes, and mud during wet conditions are making life unbearable for road users and traders.
Checks by JoyNews’ Kwasi Kwarteng Addae at the project site four months after the last report revealed that conditions are deteriorating.

Some road users say the potholes have affected their businesses since they constantly visit repair shops to maintain their vehicles after plying the road.
A driver said, “I am just coming from the market to get some spare parts. you work you get money use it to buy spare parts all the time. Drivers complain a lot and sometimes to the passengers to they use to complain because as the car is shaking up and down it affects their waist. Ghana is old like 60 years and above and we are still constructing roads.”
For those who trade within the enclave, the business has been slow because when it rains it gets too flooded and during the dry season the road becomes dusty, which makes it inaccessible.
“When someone wants to come in and buy some spare parts, they park their cars outside and walk a long distance to the spare parts enclave. Maybe by the time the person comes, we have closed. It will affect me, it will affect the person as well."
They seized the opportunity to appeal to the government to fix the road since the bad road threatened their livelihood.
