Total market turnover on the bond market declined by 7.01% week-on-week to ¢1.09 billion
According to reports, investors sustained strong trading activity on the bond market despite the decline in market turnover.
Trades were largely across the near-term maturities, particularly with the February 2027 (Coupon: 8.35%) and Feb 2028 (Coupon: 8.50%) jointly constituting 90% of the market turnover.
Bond yields increased an average of 8 basis points across the 2027-2030 bonds to settle at 21.20%, while the 2031-2034 papers retreated to 15.95% (-9bps).
Analysts expect trading to remain lively, while investors digest Government of Ghana’s budget to see the direction of the economy.
