The CEO of SES HD PLUS Ghana Limited, Adelaide Abbiw-Williams, has been awarded the prestigious Technology Leadership Award at the 5th edition of the National Communication Awards.
This honour acknowledges her consistent dedication to innovation, leadership, and empowerment of women and young persons in Ghana’s media and technology landscape.
As the first female CEO of a multinational satellite platform that is innovating the free-to-air satellite TV broadcasting industry in Ghana, she has emerged as a role model for many women.
She is particularly excited about young people and women working towards an all-inclusive future in an ever-increasing digital world.
She believes it is imperative that the potential of young people is developed and harnessed to bring about sustainable development.
This is demonstrated through the HD+ digital satellite installation training where the skills of over 10,000 technicians have been updated.
Additionally, a special training program for Ghanaian female prison officers in satellite installation was launched in October 2023.
Adelaide Abbiw-Williams is an ardent promoter for women in leadership and knowledge-sharing.
In July 2023, she established the "LeadHERS" Lean-In Circle as well as her organisation’s HD+ LeadHERS Xperience platform to foster collaboration among like-minded women leaders.
Her expertise and strategic acumen have played a pivotal role in shaping Ghana's technology landscape with the fastest-growing high definition (HD) TV platform with over 200k customers through partnerships with key players in the TV broadcasting ecosystem.

Adelaide Abbiw-Williams is a seasoned business leader with two decades of experience spanning diverse fields such as FMCG, manufacturing, telecommunications, mobile financial services, and satellite broadcasting.
Prior to her appointment as CEO of SES HD PLUS GH Ltd, Adelaide was the primary marketing connection between SES and the Ghanaian market where she led the launch of the HD+ brand in Ghana.
She is a member of the Institute of Directors Ghana as well as the Chartered Institute of Marketing in both the UK and Ghana.
She holds an MBA from Lancaster University UK and is an alumnus of the University of Cape Coast and Wesley Girls High School.
Adelaide's dedication and contributions to the satellite broadcasting industry have been recognised with honours such as the 8th Ghana Women of Excellence Awards and the 50 Female Pillars of Modern Ghana Award, organized by the West African International Press.
Adelaide Abbiw-Williams is a catalyst within the satellite broadcasting landscape shaping local content production, transmission, distribution, and installation in Ghana while championing the development of the next generation of leaders, making her a true inspiration in both corporate and social spheres.
