The Ghana Tourism Authority has announced that it has officially partnered with Afua Asantewaa O. Aduonum, the Ghanaian lady who intends to break the Guinness World Record of the longest singing marathon, for her attempt.
In a public notice, the GTA also indicated that in tandem with the partnership, the venue for the attempt has been moved from the Aviation Social Centre to Akwaaba Village being constructed near the Airport Roundabout.
"The change in venue is to help accommodate the huge numbers who have expressed interest in attending to support our own Afua Asantewaa, break the record," the notice explains.

Afua has so far received support from individuals and companies.
Sonotech Medical and Diagnostic Centre has offered to provide medical assistance to her and be the official health partners fully available for her on all the four days she will be attempting the singathon.
As part of grooming her voice for the event, popular Ghanaian voice coach, Freeman Ame Daniel, has also offered to take her through vocal training from now till 24th - 27th December, 2023 when the programme will take place.
About Afua's singathon
Afua Asantewaa O. Aduonum, who is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Askof Productions Limited, will host the four-day GWR attempt at the Akwaaba Village.
She aims not only to achieve a personal milestone but also to promote Ghanaian music through this marathon.
Her goal is to surpass the existing record set in 2012 by one Indian, Sunil Waghmare. In this challenging endeavour, she aims to surpass the 105-hour record.
During the event, scheduled to last 117 hours, Miss Aduonum plans to exclusively sing Ghanaian songs, spanning across genres such as gospel, highlife, and hiplife.
Afua has cited Hilda Baci’s cook-a-thon where she successfully broke a four-year-old cooking record set by Lata Tondon, as her inspiration.
