In line with its agenda of empowering the Small and Medium-scale Enterprise (SME) sector, FBNBank has announced that it is organising a series of SME Fairs for businesses in that segment aimed at fostering growth and attracting potential customers to patronize their products and services.
The SME fair will be an opportunity to support the businesses of customers of the Bank in that segment as it will offer them a platform to showcase their products and services. It will also benefit customers who visit the branches hosting the fair as they will get the opportunity to see the products and services being exhibited and hopefully make purchases.
The FBNBank SME fair comes in two editions; the first one is scheduled to take place from 12th to 16th December 2023 at the Atomic Branch, with the second one taking place simultaneously at the Dome, Santa Maria, and Tema Hospital Road Branches from 19th to 23rd December 2023.
In addition to the exhibition and sales, the fair is structured to offer a networking opportunity for participants and visitors. FBNBank will also offer business advisory services and training to participants as part of its efforts to address the financing challenges that hinder their growth and development.
Commenting on the upcoming SME fair, Victor Yaw Asante, FBNBank Ghana’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, said, “SMEs are the lifeline of any economy, contributing significantly to employment and economic growth. However, these enterprises often face unique challenges when it comes to financing. For us at FBNBank the upcoming SME Fair is not just an event; it is a testament to our unwavering commitment to empower local businesses and contribute to the overall prosperity of the communities we serve. At FBNBank, we see ourselves as partners in the success stories of our entrepreneurs, a reflection of our dedication to providing them with the tools and opportunities they need to thrive.”
Earlier this year in August, FBNBank held an SME Clinic at the African Regent Hotel under the theme “Accelerating Growth of Your SME Business through FBNBank.” This event, which was very well attended, was a precursor to the SME Fairs as it offered the Bank an opportunity to garner feedback from SMEs in addition to offering bespoke solutions to their peculiar challenges.
Over the past few years FBNBank has received awards in the SME category in recognition for the Bank’s support to SMEs and its general endeavour to grow the sector with the most recent recognition been the “Best SME Banking Brand” at the 2022 Global Brand Awards ceremony held at the Dubai Palm Jumeirah - Waldorf on 10th December, 2022. FBNBank has also made conscious efforts to get closer to SMEs by expanding its branch network. Within the period the Bank has opened new branches at Abossey Okai, Atomic Junction, Abeka Lapaz, East Legon and recently, the Tema Hospital Road.
