Ghana head coach Chris Hughton says the defeat in Cape Verde in the opening game of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) was disappointing.
The Black Stars faced the Blue Sharks in their first game and were left with nothing to take home after collapsing in the dying moments of the game.
After a slow start to the game, Alexander Djiku levelled the score for Ghana after Cape Verde had taken the lead in the first half.
However, Gary Rodrigues came off the bench to score the winner in added time and send Cape Verde to the top of Group B.
"I think it rocked us the goal that we conceded [that early] but I thought that we got back into the game and at that stage, it looked like we could go on and win it," Hughton said.
"We are hugely hugely disappointed with the result."
The Stars will now turn their attention to the game against Egypt on Thursday, January 18, in a bid to give themselves a chance in the competition.
