Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) Ghana is promising to work with the Bank of Ghana to address the trade-related issues raised by the regulator.
This comes after the Bank of Ghana suspended the Foreign Exchange Trading Licenses of Guaranty Trust Bank Ghana and FBN Bank Ghana over what the regulator describes as various breaches of market regulation.
In a statement, the bank said it is also working with the relevant government agencies and has reached out to customers who submitted defective documentation to address the issue.
GTBank pointed out that it will strengthen its Anti Money Laundering policies and implementation to prevent future occurrences.
“We are also working with the relevant government agencies and have reached out to customers who submitted defective documentation with a view to addressing this issue, as we further strengthen our AML/CFT policies and implementation to prevent future occurrences”, it explained.
“GTBank wishes to inform its customers that this does not affect other business segments of our operations. All other products and services (Main branches, Agency Banking outlets and digital platforms) are available for your convenient use”, it stated.
“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this temporary suspension may cause you and your business”, it added.
“We wish to reiterate that, GTBank Ghana works within and maintains the highest levels of professionalism and compliance to directives given by the Regulator [Bank of Ghana], and will continue to work in your best interest”, it concluded.
