Leading microinsurance company, aYo Intermediaries Ghana Limited walked away with three prestigious awards at this year's Ghana Finance Focus Awards, which is the second edition.
The company itself won the Mobile Insurance Leadership Award, while the CEO, Francis Gota was named Most Transformational Insurance CEO of the Year, and CFO, Solomon Osei was honoured as The Most Influential CFO in Ghana 2023.
aYo Ghana is a subsidiary of MTN Ghana, and it offers accessible and affordable microinsurance, underwritten by Sanlam Life Insurance Ghana Limited.

It has over the last seven years provided Hospitalization and Life Insurance coverage payable with MTN airtime or mobile money deductions.
Currently, aYo has four main products - Recharge with Care (RwC), RwC Annual Cover, aYo Family Cover and the aYo Pay and Drive, which was introduced recently to revolutionize motor insurance in the country.
Over its lifespan, aYo has provided cover for over 8 million lives and paid out about GHS19 million in claims to more than 46,000 policyholders and beneficiaries.
Under the able leadership of Francis Gota, aYo Ghana has over the years won several laurels for its immense contribution to insurance penetration in the country.

The company single-handedly covers up to 25% of the Ghanaian population, particularly those in the low-to-middle income bracket, in a country where actual insurance penetration is still less than 4%.
With over 12 years of experience in insurance, Francis Gota has a strong track record in operations, business development, and strategy.
His passion for leveraging technology to enhance lives is what drives his commitment to championing financial security and community resilience.

The CFO, Solomon Osei, on the other hand, is a Chartered Accountant with an EMBA in Finance from the University of Ghana.
With expertise in corporate finance, financial analysis, and systems, he drives financial strategies for sustainable growth, leveraging his extensive experience in accounting, taxation, and auditing.
