Head coach of the Black Starlets, Laryea Kingston, says the state of the University of Ghana Stadium didn't help his side in executing the way they wanted to play against Benin.
Ghana beat their counterparts in their second game to top Group A and advance to the semifinals of the ongoing WAFU B U-17 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Unlike the game against Cote d'Ivoire where they scored five, Kingston's boys were restricted to just two goals on Wednesday afternoon.
Despite being satisfied with his team's performance, the gaffer believes the current state of the pitch made things difficult for the Starlets.
"I want us to be calm enough. The way we want to play, we want to be calm enough. Sometimes, it's very difficult to play," Kingston said after the game.
"We have one or two challenges with the way the ball moves on the pitch; it's a bit slow. So it slowed the way we wanted to play.
"For me, I think we dominated play today unlike against Ivory Coast."
The Black Starlets will hope to continue their unbeaten start to the competition as they await their semifinal opposition.
