The Chief Executive Officer of Labianca Company Limited, Eunice Jacqueline Buah Asomah-Hinneh has passed on.
According to reports, she died on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at the International Maritime Hospital (IMAH) in Tema.
This was after a brief illness.
Until her demise, Ms. Asomah-Hinneh was the representative of the Western Region on the Council of State.
Prior to that, she served as a member of the Board of Directors of the GPHA from 2017 to 2021.
The late Eunice Buah made headlines after the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) accused her of corruption-related offences.
On August 3, 2022, the OSP released a report on its investigations into alleged corruption and corruption-related offences involving the Labianca Group of Companies and the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority.
The OSP’s report, among other things, implicated officials of Labianca and the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority for their various roles, which saw the company that deals in the importation of frozen foods benefit from a reduction in the company’s tax liabilities.
She left behind a husband, former Tema Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Nana Asomah-Hinneh (RTD).
