Finance Minister Dr Mohammed Amin Adam has urged Ghanaians to offer unwavering support to the government to revive the economy.
According to him, the government has worked round the clock throughout the economic crisis to ensure the economy is stable. He said this was because citizens have entrusted them to deliver on their mandate.
As such, now that the economy is moving towards recovery, Dr Amin urged Ghanaians to support the government to stabilise the economy.
He made these comments during a press briefing at the Finance Ministry on Monday, July 1.
"We are in this together. If it is bad it is bad for all of us. If it is good, it is good for all of us. Therefore in this journey towards economic recovery and growth, we have faced challenges but our resilience and determination have kept us strong. Let us continue to stand united in support of our government's efforts to steer our economy towards a brighter future.
“Let us build on the progress made so far with patience and hope in our hearts. We are a nation of proud and resourceful people with a can-do spirit that has always propelled us forward and above many nations across the world.
“Together, we shall overcome the obstacles and emerge stronger as a nation, more united and more prosperous. Let us match forward with faith in ourselves and in our leaders and in our beloved Ghana,” he said.
The Finance Minister added that in a bid to promote accountability, transparency, economic governance, and inclusiveness, the ministry, in collaboration with academia, will hold an economic round table on July 2 at the University of Ghana on the theme "Restoring Macro-economy Stability."
