In a stirring address during the Ghana Journalist Association's (GJA) 75th-anniversary public lecture series held in Ho, revered Ghanaian journalist and columnist Cameron Doudu emphasised the critical importance of present actions in shaping a prosperous future.
Known for his insightful analysis and eloquent writing, Doudu delivered a speech that deeply resonated with the audience, inspiring them to take proactive steps today for a better tomorrow.
“To have a flourishing future, you must create it in the present,” Doudu declared, his words carrying the weight of decades of experience in journalism.
He underscored that waiting for the future to unfold is a passive approach while taking deliberate and thoughtful actions in the present is key to achieving long-term success and fulfilment.

The public lecture brought together thought leaders, scholars, and community members to reflect on the past and strategies for the future.
“The future is not a distant dream but a tangible reality that we can shape with our actions today,” Doudu explained.
He urged the audience to embrace a mindset of continuous improvement, innovation, and resilience. Drawing from his extensive career, Doudu shared anecdotes illustrating the power of foresight and the impact of present decisions on future outcomes.

The event served as a platform for Doudu to share his vision of a proactive and engaged citizenry. He encouraged the audience to focus not only on personal growth but also on contributing to the development of their communities and the broader society.
“Each of us has a role to play in creating the future we desire. It starts with the choices we make and the actions we take today,” he said.
Doudu’s message was particularly poignant in the context of the 75th anniversary, a milestone that prompted reflection on the journey so far and the road ahead.
His call to action resonated with the theme of the lecture series, which centred on envisioning a bright and sustainable future through collective effort and individual responsibility.
