President Akufo-Addo has directed the Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Samuel Abu Jinapor, to oversee the Ministry of Energy at the cabinet level following the resignation of the substantive Minister, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh.
In the interim, Minister of State-designate Herbert Krapa has been assigned to handle the day-to-day operations of the Ministry of Energy.
President Akufo-Addo has also instructed Samuel Abu Jinapor and Herbert Krapa to collaborate closely with Dr Opoku Prempeh to ensure a smooth transition.

This arrangement is part of the efforts to maintain continuity and efficiency in the Ministry of Energy's operations.
"In light of Dr Opoku Prempeh's resignation, President Akufo-Addo has asked the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Abu Jinapor, MP for Damongo, to exercise Cabinet oversight responsibility over the Ministry of Energy."
"Additionally, the Minister-of-State-designate at the Ministry of Energy, Herbert Krapa, will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Ministry."
"The President has asked the two persons to liaise closely with Dr Opoku Prempeh to ensure a smooth transition in the affairs of the Ministry," the statement from the Presidency said.
