Black Princesses forward Mafia Nyame is determined to impress when Ghana takes to the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
The Princesses are set for a seventh successive appearance at the global tournament next month with the competition also set to be Nyame's second.
The AS FAR winger played with the team during the last edition of the World Cup in Costa Rica where she made one appearance, coming on as a substitute in the 4-1 defeat to the Netherlands.
Nyame is part of the team's training camp in Cape Coast and has been speaking to the Ghana Football Association media.
"It is always an honour to be called to the national team to serve the nation wholeheartedly," she said.
"I represented Ghana at the 2022 edition but it didn’t go as planned and this is an opportunity to go and make history. Everyone in camp is doing well to make it to the final squad for the World Cup. There are many talented players here and everyone is putting in extra work.

"I featured in only one game as a sub in Costa Rica and hopefully if I make it to this year’s World Cup, I’ll go and do well to leave a mark. I believe in this team to make it out of the group stage for the first time in our history. The technical team is doing their best and taking us through series of trainings."
"We urge Ghanaians to keep supporting us like they always do and we will continue to make them proud."
In their previous six attempts, the Black Princesses have failed to go past the group stage, coming close in the 2012 edition.
With the expansion of the competition to 24 teams from 16, Yussif Basigi will be hoping to guide Ghana past the first round for the first time.
Ghana are pitted in Group E where they will face Austria, New Zealand and Japan.
