The In-Charge of the Anlo Afiadenyigba Health Centre,  Juliet Ama Anaglo, together with local leaders, is making an urgent appeal for the upgrade of the only health facility serving over ten communities. The health centre, which is in a deplorable state, is in desperate need of transformation into a polyclinic to provide better and more efficient healthcare services.

Gabriel Korbla Kuatsikor, the Assemblyman for Dziehe-Ablame, and Torgbui Kadzahklo Drabese, the Paramount Chief of the Anlo Afiadenyigba Traditional Area, joined forces with the health centre In Charge to highlight the dire condition of the facility and the critical need for immediate intervention.

"The Anlo Afiadenyigba Health Centre is the primary healthcare provider for numerous communities, yet it lacks basic amenities and infrastructure," said the In-Charge Juliet Ama Anaglo. "Our current state severely limits our ability to deliver effective medical care, and the health and well-being of our people are at risk."

The health centre faces numerous challenges, including inadequate medical equipment, insufficient space, and a shortage of healthcare professionals. The building itself is in disrepair, with crumbling walls, leaking roofs, and an unreliable electricity supply. Patients often have to travel long distances to access specialized care that the health centre cannot provide, further endangering their health.

"The upgrade to a polyclinic is not just a desire but a necessity," emphasized Assemblyman Kuatsikor. "We need a facility that can offer a broader range of services, including maternity care, emergency services, and specialized treatments. This will not only save lives but also improve the overall health outcomes for our communities."

Torgbui Kadzahklo Drabese added his voice to the call for urgent assistance, underscoring the collective responsibility to support the health centre. "The health of our people is paramount. As leaders, we must ensure that our communities have access to quality healthcare. Upgrading the Anlo Afiadenyigba Health Centre to a polyclinic will be a significant step towards achieving this goal."

The leaders are appealing to the government, non-governmental organizations, and philanthropists to assist in the transformation of the health centre. They stress that with adequate support, the facility can be equipped to handle a wider array of medical conditions and reduce the burden on regional hospitals.
