The inaugural Ghana Downstream Awards and Gala Night, held at the Alisa Hotel on July 19, marked the climax of the two-day Ghana International Petroleum Conference and Exhibition (GHIPCon) and honoured approximately 50 top winners.
The Downstream Gala and Awards Night is a pioneering awards scheme designed to promote compliance within the petroleum industry and to acknowledge both individual and institutional contributions to the growth and sustainability of the sector.

By recognising excellence across the downstream value chain, the event aims to inspire higher standards and continuous improvement within the industry.
The awards honoured distinguished individuals in Ghana's downstream petroleum industry for their exemplary leadership and exceptional dedication.
Additionally, several organizations were recognised for their advocacy of best business practices in the sector.
Speaking to the media after the ceremony, Minister of State, at the Ministry of Energy, Herbert Krapa congratulated the winners for their unflinching support to the petroleum downstream sector over the years.
He took the opportunity to call for urgent investment in the country's energy infrastructure to secure its future energy needs.
"I want to say 'Ayekoo' to all the winners for their outstanding contributions to the growth and sustainability of our dear sector", he said.
"Now is the time for urgent investment in our country's energy infrastructure. We must act swiftly to secure our future energy needs and ensure a stable, sustainable energy supply for generations to come," he noted.
Meanwhile, the CEO of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Dr Mustapha Abdul- Hamid said, he was extremely grateful for such a wonderful recognition of some renowned dignitaries in the sector at this highest magnitude.
According to him, the award reflects the company and individuals' unwavering focus on meeting and exceeding customer expectations while adhering to rigorous quality standards over the years.

"I am indeed grateful for such a great recognition at this highest milestone. I hope this event will create the opportunity for stakeholders to collaborate, and innovate to drive sustainable growth within the petroleum downstream sector ", Mr. Abdul-Hamid noted.
The event marked the climax of the 2024 Ghana International Petroleum Conference (GHiPCon) held on 17 and 18 of July, organised by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) in collaboration with the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distribution ( CBOD) and the Association of Oil and Marketing Companies (AOMC), under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy bringing together all the industry stakeholders to synergies and pull resources from each other and also celebrate and promotes high level of ethics within the sector.

- Storage Depot of the Year – Chase Logistics Ltd
- Oil Marketing Company of the Year – Goil PLC
- Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketing Company of the Year – Annandale Ghana Ltd
- Transport Company of the Year – J.K. Horgle Transport & Co
- Best Growing Bulk Import Distribution and Export Company of the Year – Astra Oil Services Ltd
- Best Growing Oil Marketing Company of the Year – Star Oil
- Best Growing Liquefied Petroleum Gas Company of the Year – Annandale Ghana Ltd
- Best Growing Transporter of the Year – Star Oil
