Upper West Regional Minister Stephen Yakubu has commended President Nana Akufo-Addo for his visionary leadership in launching the District Road Improvement Project (DRIP).
Speaking during the reception and inauguration of the DRIP equipment for the Upper West Region, Yakubu praised the government's commitment to addressing the nation’s road infrastructure needs.

"This is a fulfillment of our 'Year of Roads' promise," Yakubu declared, stressing the importance of the equipment's arrival at a time when the region's roads are in dire condition.
He assured the public that the equipment would be immediately deployed across districts to begin much-needed roadwork without delay.
Venantius Kuundri, Acting Regional Coordinator of DRIP, highlighted that JA Plant Pool, a subsidiary of the Jospong Group of Companies, would oversee the monitoring and maintenance of the equipment in collaboration with the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and local assemblies.

He noted that strict maintenance protocols would be followed, with spare parts stocked regionally to ensure prompt repairs.
The Upper West Region, which consists of 11 municipal and district assemblies, received 106 pieces of equipment under the DRIP initiative.
This includes tipper trucks, motor graders, low beds, pick-ups, concrete mixers, backhoes, rollers, graders, wheel loaders, and water tankers, all aimed at improving road construction and infrastructure in the region.
